Circle ‘P’ Day Camp

Circle P Day Camp has been serving our community as an extension ministry of Parkdale Baptist Church, Ottawa, since 1976. It is conducted on a beautiful, 100-acre farm west of Richmond. Open fields, fresh air, and a lovely country setting make it an ideal place for the wholesome activities of a Christian Day Camp. Our many trained and dedicated volunteers from the church work as a team to provide the best summer camp experience possible! The camp usually runs the first full week of July. Registration is FREE.  Campers, ages 6-12, enjoy a full week of crafts, games, sports, competitions, Bible discovery, singing, swimming and much more.

Contact us if you would like to register your child(ren) for this summer’s day camp.

KidZ Choir (Musical Theatre Club)

Taking our cue from a successful program at Kanata Fellowship Baptist and using their many resources and support – we are beginning a Kidz Choir in the Parkdale centre-town area.

The goal is to give children and youth, ages 3 to 15, an opportunity to praise our Lord through song, as well as be involved in the many other aspects of musical theatre: costume design, set design, and acting – there will be something for everyone! Practices are scheduled every Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the main auditorium of Parkdale Baptist Church.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children and join the Adult Bible Study held in the lower auditorium at the same time. Our first rehearsal will be September 15, 2010.

Young People for Christ

This is a new program (starting June 5th, 2010) for teenagers, ages 13-17, meeting every Saturday evening from 7–9 p.m. at our Westboro Campus @ 307 Richmond Road.  Each week the youth will explore different topics (ie. Teen evangelism, Relationships, Life choices etc.), looking at how Jesus’ teachings apply to the topic and their lives. There will be topical activities that include games, crafts and sports. They will also have a time of socializing, in order to find out what prayer needs each of them have.

College & Careers Fellowship

This group of young adults, ages 18 +, meets every Friday evening from 7–10 p.m. at Parkdale.  Most regular meetings include games, food, sports, and a brief devotion/discussion.  Our young adults are challenged to make biblical choices in all areas of their lives. They are also encouraged to participate in community service through various “work projects” in and around the church. We have regular special events/activities which may include: camping, boating/skiing, swimming, “Don Valentino’s Restaurant”, gym nights, etc.

Ladies’ Fellowship

Our ladies’ fellowship meets once a month (usually the 3rd or 4th Saturday) from September till June. This afternoon program, 1-3 p.m., is hosted by different ladies from the group who plan a “theme” and provide a light snack.  We have several on-going community/mission projects including: Jabez Blanket Ministry for orphans, First Place Pregnancy Centre, and Christmas baskets for elderly/shut-ins, etc. There is also a “book exchange” at each meeting where ladies lend or borrow recommended reading material.

Music Ministry

Our Music Ministry encourages worship and praise through the congregational singing of hymns as well as by vocal and instrumental presentations from within the Church congregation.  Participants minister on a regular basis in our worship services and for seasonal occasions such as Christmas, Easter, and our annual musical concert. We endeavour to lift up the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with voice and instrument.

Tape Ministry

Adult Sunday school classes and Sunday morning worship services are digitally recorded each week. This ministry is primarily for shut-ins, nursery & Junior church workers, or other members unable to attend our services.

Pastoral Care Extension Ministry

This ministry is carried out by a team of trained volunteers under the direction of the pastor and one of our deacons.

Its purpose is: To be there in times of sickness and in joy, in sorrow or celebration, in crisis or transition. To listen, to share, to befriend.
